CIO Handmade Poncho – A Crochet Pattern Review

It’s been a few months since I came across this pattern by Lorena for a poncho. I previously crocheted a simple bandanna using her tutorial which was really easy to follow and a good project to have a go at for learning how to make triangles. I decided I would alter the poncho such that it fit more like a shrug and didn’t drape over my arm so that I could wear a coat over it for the winter.

I had some yarn that I thrifted/rescued from a street seller in shades of green and decided I wanted something “whimsy” so this pattern seemed like an obvious choice for its floaty and loose look.

This was the final look..

Overall, I found this tutorial really simple and easy to follow, it requires just two measurements and, two stitches (triple crochet and single crochet for the seams). It has minimal ends to weave in and comes out very drapey. Will definitely make a longer poncho style version for summer.
